Two-Tone Trends
Why go with one cabinet color, when you can choose two? Dual-Toned Kitchens have become increasingly popular over the last few month, and we expect it to stay that way for a while. Choosing different colors of cabinets not only is aesthetically pleasing, but it also helps create a separation of space, and allows you to do some fun mixing and matching when it comes time to selecting your countertops and hardware. As you can see fun inverted color choices, tied together with gold accents really makes the space feel funky and different while still remaining cohesive and balanced in its design.
2. Back in Black
Enough of the all-white, super bright, because black, along with other dark hues, are making their comeback! When accented with white, or light neutral colors, it creates a rich and polished look that is both striking and captivating. Perfect for either a modern or more traditional look, depending on cabinet style, stone selection, and accents. The first picture shows a modern take; done so by creating sleek clean lines with the cabinetry backsplash selections, as well as going with a very monochromatic color pallet all together. The Second depicts a modern application, containing a large custom island with ornate, muted black custom-cabinetry surrounding, accented with both stainless steel and gold touches throughout.
3. Full-Wall of Splash
Whole-wall tile and slab installs are making a “splash”! Bringing the backsplash up the entirety of the wall helps elongate and enlarge the space. The first example is neutral tile splash throughout the kitchen space, that provides texture and warmth to the entire room. The second features Quartzite Counters that extend to full wall splashes, as you can see the stunning stone installed on the walls really helps elongate the space.
4. Open-Air Uppers
In addition to full walls of splashes, we are seeing upper cabinets being replaced with open-air shelving more and more. The long wooden shelves installed over a full wall of subway tile, as shown below, is a modern and visually appealing example of this design trend. It is also common to see the shelving being incorporated alongside traditional cabinetry as well.
5. Going Bold with Color Choices
We are starting to see people take a step away from the comfortable whites and grays, and instead choose something different to make a statement! Varying shades of both blue and green are on the rise right now.
6. Incorporating the Great Outdoors
One up and coming trend that we are seeing more and more of as the year goes on, is homeowners connecting their kitchens with nature, both literally and figuratively. In the figurative sense, we are seeing a lot more wood and raw materials being selected to highlight the space and capture the beauty of natural elements. There is also the literal portrayal, in which people are forgoing walls separating the kitchen from their outdoor space and doing so by adding full-length windows or doors to tie together the inside and outside in charming fashion.
7. Statement Appliances
It is common to see a statement being made with tile selection or even cabinet colors, but a new trend hitting the scene is making that statement with your appliances! We are seeing appliances of all different colors and styles ready to help spruce up or just add a pop of contrast to any space!
